A Volunteer should possess the following: ● A commitment to serving their communities ● Enthusiasm and personal interest in the area of volunteer work chosen ● A desire for challenge and new responsibilities ● A willingness to devote their time ● A willingness to observe the same ethical and conduct standards as paid workers What skills and qualifications do I need? Volunteers with the Cowra / Grenfell Meals on Wheels Food Service should ideally possess skills or qualifications in the following arrears: ● An empathy with and understanding of the needs of the frail aged and people with disabilities and their needs ● Neat and tidy appearance ● Good people and communication skills ● Honesty and reliability ● Driver’s licence and own vehicle if being the driver Other Important Information you need to know! ● Applicants for Volunteer positions will be required to undergo an interview to assess their suitability for the position ● Volunteers are required to undergo a Police check ● Volunteers will be required to sign an Agreement form ● All personal information remains strictly confidential ● Volunteers will receive an Orientation Package ● Volunteers will receive training relevant to their Volunteer work ● Volunteers will be reimbursed for their out of pocket expenses ● Cowra / Grenfell Meals on Wheels adheres to the principles of EEO ● Cowra / Grenfell Meals on Wheels welcomes Volunteers from Culturally and Linguistically diverse backgrounds I’m interested!
